Welcome to the 
Westmoore Chapter
of National Honor Society!

 

Induction into National Honor society is by invite only.  Your candidacy is based upon your scholastic achievement of maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or better, along with your Leadership, Citizenship and Service to the school and community. 

To be considered for membership, you must fulfill the following tasks upon receiving the invite: 

  1. Type an essay describing why you feel you meet the requirements and believe you should become an NHS member.  
  2. Get a typed letter of recommendation (no hand-written letters) from a church, civic or business leader on company letterhead (excluding all Moore Public Schools personnel, fellow students and immediate family members) describing your Leadership, Citizenship and Service to the school and community. 
  3. Pay the $7.00 non-refundable induction fee.

To maintain your membership, you must fulfill the following: 

  1. Pay yearly dues of $15
  2. Maintain a cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.5. 
  3. Obtain at least 15 service points by Spring Break 
  4. Attend monthly member meetings either before school at 7:50 or after school at 3:15.  Doors lock promptly at these times, no late admissions accepted. 
  5. Participate in mandatory fundraising event.  

Failure to meet and maintain these standards will result in being put on probation, followed by dismissal.
